Tiny and ancient, Sonny Bryan’s Restaurant in Dallas is typical Texas. The shack holds a few school desks to eat big ribs and brisket sandwiches. Try the famous brisket basked in hickory smoke until moist and full of flavor. There is no need for this awesome meat, which is piled high in a sandwich but Sonny Bryan’s tangy and complex sauce also happens to be a great companion to the gentle-flavored beef.
The original location has been serving smoky brisket and fall-off-the-bone pork ribs since 1958 from the same ramshackle digs. No wonder it attracts loads of tourists and Dallas residents alike. Most famous among the joint’s visitors have been President George W. Bush and director Steven Spielberg. Locals are of the opinion that Sonny Bryan’s is the best barbeque joint even though there are numerous other places in Dallas that serve barbecue.
